Shandong Rizhao Iron & Steel chooses Danieli multi-cassette leveler technology
The new hot and cold levelers will process thin and medium-thick plates
Shandong Rizhao Iron & Steel, a major producer of steel flat and long products in China’s Shandong province, contracted Danieli to supply two new hot and cold levelers to be installed along the “Steckel Plate 3500” line, in Rizhao.
In order to maximize the production flexibility, multi-cassette configuration will be used for both machines.
The Hot Plate Leveler will operate with a cassette of 11 small-diameter rolls suitable for thin plates down to 4 mm, and a second cassette of 9 rolls featuring a larger diameter for medium-thick plates up to 50 mm.
Cassettes are interchangeable by means of a quick cassette changing using a shifting platform, and the drive system for each cassette is accommodated in a shifting platform as well.
Similarly, the Cold Plate Leveler will operate with a 13-roll cassette for thin plates down to 4 mm and a 9-roll cassette for medium-thick plates up to 50 mm. Additionally, the Danieli Multimotor drive concept will be adopted to carry out hydraulic gap control and multipoint bending.
The scope of supply includes the most critical mechanical and electrical components, as well as L1 and L2 automation package from Danieli Automation.
Production of the first plates is scheduled by the end of 2018.
