Top steel exporters to the United States
The United States is the world’s biggest steel importing nation, buying 35.6 million tonnes of the building raw material in 2017.
U.S. President Donald Trump is planning to impose a 25 percent tariff on steel imports and 10 percent on aluminum in a bid to protect American jobs. But other countries have threatened with retaliatory actions, fuelling fears of a global trade war.
