10th VDI Conference "Casting Technology in Engine Construction 2019"

We are celebrating an anniversary - will you join us? Over the years, the VDI symposium "Casting Technology in Engine Construction" has become the most important forum for foundries and engine builders in German-speaking countries
10th VDI Conference "Casting Technology in Engine Construction 2019"

  • a combination of the highest information diversity and meetings of all industry experts
  • high professional level and informative lectures
  • very good mix of topics, many practical examples of all players involved

On the 29th and 30th of January 2019, around 400 experts will meet in Magdeburg for the tenth time to discuss innovations and trends in the market. For the first time, parallel to the passenger car program, there will be a new conference for experts in the large and commercial vehicle industry. A large exhibition as well as vehicle and poster presentations, excursions and workshops form the framework.

Cast components in engine construction remain a central field of innovation in the automotive industryThe current changes due to e-mobility and downsizing concepts pose new challenges for classic engine and component foundries. Casting materials, mold and core manufacturing processes, development partnerships and quality assurance concepts must be considered and adapted. Among other things, these questions arise:

  • What does the future of the combustion engine look like?
  • Which technical potentials have not been exhausted so far?
  • What economic contribution does foundry technology make to engine construction in passenger cars, agricultural and construction machinery, special purpose machines, ships, railways, etc. as well as commercial vehicles?
  • What are the changes in the increasing electrification and what does that mean for the development and production in the interaction of OEMs, suppliers and science?
  • What are the special challenges in casting production for the burner?
