Indian Mills Book Four Rakes of HRC Export to Nepal
SteelMint learned from market participants that Indian HRC export prices to Nepal have remained stable in recent bookings concluded for April end shipments.
As per update received, two Indian steel mills have booked around four rakes of HRC to Nepal for April end shipments. HRC (tube grade) has been booked at around USD 550/MT FCA basis (USD 570/MT CFR Raxual border) for end April shipments.
Prior to this, major Indian steel mills booked around 4 rakes of HRC (SPHT-2 1.60 mm and above) at around USD 550/MT FCA basis for march end or early April shipments.
Nepal flat steel imports stable in Jan’19 - According to custom data maintained with SteelMint, Nepal imported 0.04 MnT of flat steel in Jan’19 remain unchanged against last month. Out of this nation has imported 0.02 MnT of HRC in Jan’19.
In CY1’18, Nepal imported 0.69 MnT of flat steel as compared to 0.50 MnT in CY17. India accounted for a share of 84% in Nepal flat steel imports in CY18.
