ME-METALS - CEO of Zarand Iranian Steel Co. (ZISCO) said: the pollution of the steel mills is resolved by the implementation of the CDQ project (Coke Dry Quenching).

According to ME-METALS, Mashallah Sohrabnejad, CEO of Zisco complex, said: "Zarand coking factory has been set up before the deadline."

 

He added: “the construction of coking units in the country lasts from 8 to 10 years, but Zarand coking and tar factory has been constructed in 36 months, which is a prominence for this unit.”

Sohrabnejad noted that a CDQ (Coke Dry Quenching) project has been constructed along side coking factory in order to resolve public's concern. He added this project already has 90% physical progress.

He reminded: “the construction of CDQ factory was done as a big activity for people in the Zarand area, because we have the duty to reduce the pollution in the complex as far as we can and resolve public's concerns.

CEO of Zarand Iranian Steel Company, saying that the steel factory had created four thousand direct jobs, mentioned to the social responsibility (CSR) of the this complex and said: “About four thousand direct employment and 50 thousand indirect employment have been created in this company since its inception till now.”

Sohrabnejad stated: "In the near future, with the launch of the steelmaking project, most of the contractor forces will be beneficiaries."

He continued: "95 percent of the five thousand people employed as beneficiaries in Zarand Iranian Steel Co. are native to this city and around this area.
