According to an email briefing, the conference on ‘Renewable Energy Opportunities in Iran’ will be held on Oct. 16-20 at the Iran Chamber of Commerce, Industries, Mines and Agriculture.

The event is organized by Solarplaza, a Netherlands-based group that organizes international events in the renewable energy sector.

Officials and experts from the Energy Ministry, the Renewable Energy Organization of Iran (SUNA) and tens of foreign and domestic energy companies and stakeholders are to exchange views on Iran’s fast emerging energy landscape and its challenges and potentials and share their experience of doing business in the country during the five-day conference.

Following Tehran’s landmark nuclear deal with the world powers in July 2015 that led to the lifting of some trade and financial restrictions in January, foreign companies from Germany, Italy, South Korea, China and the UK have signed agreements to develop renewable energy, including solar and wind.

Analysts say that with Iran opening up for business, there is immense scope for lucrative business with Iranian organizations and international companies wanting to restore trade deals with the nation of 80 million people.
