Odisha Govt Invites Bid for Grant of Ten Iron Ore & Manganese Mining Leases

Odisha govt. has today invited bids for grant of ten iron ore and manganese ore mining leases. In exercise of the powers conferred by Section 10 (B) of the Mines and Minerals (Development and Regulation) Act, 1957 and in accordance with the Mineral (Auction) Rules, 2015 as amended from time to time notified thereunder, the Government of Odisha has identified 10 mineral blocks (7 blocks of iron ore and 3 blocks of iron ore and manganese) for electronic auction.

The Government of Odisha reserves the Thakurani Iron Ore Block, Jaribahal Iron Ore Block, Roida II Iron Ore Block, Narayanposhi Iron Ore & Manganese Block and Ganua Iron Ore Block for specified end use.

Nuagaon and Ganua iron ore leases are currently under the Ahluwalias, Thakurani iron ore block under Kaypee Enterprises and Essel Mining’s Jilling-Langalota iron ore block are among few major merchant blocks put up for auctions in this phase which are due to expire by March 31, 2020.

Last date for purchase of Tender Document after payment of a tender fee on website of e-auction platform provider is November 15, 2019 and the last date for submission of the bid is November 18, 2019 on or before 12:00 noon (IST).

With few key Odisha mining leases coming up for auctions, these auctions are likely to observe aggressive bidding from participants.
