ABx stated in its March quarterly report: "The potential for early commencement of production and delivery to port is being considered by stakeholders to create new jobs in Northern Tasmania and maximize the benefits of reduced fuel costs.”

It has also been said that the new orders had been secured for fertilizer grade bauxite as agricultural demand soared.

The quarter incorporated supplying an urgent order of 700 tonnes of fertilizer grade bauxite from its Bald Hill project at Campbell Town to Impact Fertilisers in Hobart. The company is also working towards potential mining at its Binjour project, inland from Bundaberg, in Queensland.

The proposal for mining leases, transport, port, and shipping arrangements had been presented to the Queensland government in recent months and was being considered by Queensland's Office of the Coordinator-General for early review.

The company has bauxite deposits in Tasmania, Queensland, and New South Wales.
