Hitachi Launches After Sales Services in Iran

Japan’s Hitachi Construction Machinery Company has launched an after sales service in Iran in collaboration with industrial vehicle holding firm ‘Arian Sarmaie’.

Hitachi left the Iranian market in 2011 under US pressure to cease all trade with the country over its nuclear program.

According to Ahmad Nikmehr, CEO of Arian Sarmaie, “Promoting the Japanese brand and providing top-notch after-sales services to consumers are on top of the company’s agenda,” Persian Khodro reported.

In addition to Hitachi products, Arian Sarmie currently offers Chinese-made JAC trucks, Toyota lift trucks and engines produced by Italy’s Fiat Powertrain Technologies.

Nikmehr said, “During the past years Hitachi has not had an official representative in Iran and customers faced obstacles purchasing original spare parts.”

He added, “The firm has already registered spare parts orders with the Japanese firm and the first batches will be delivered in the upcoming months.” No exact date was given.

Nikmehr noted that customers had to previously work with Chinese and Korean substitutes during the years of Hitachi’s absence in Iran.

“The Japanese manufacturer is set to reclaim its due share of the Iranian [industrial machine] market,” he added with a sense of optimism.

The previous distributor of the firm in Iran, Touranto Co P.J.S which had a deal with Hitachi Construction Machinery Middle East, continues to sell machinery from other companies including Bobcat, Terex, Indeco and Montaber.

According to that company’s website, they no longer have an agreement with the Japanese firm.

Hitachi producers a range of different products including excavators, wheel loaders, rigid dump trucks and ICT facilities to industrial sites, its website states.
