According to me-metals, with the continuous efforts of quality control inspectors stationed in open warehouses and with the effective cooperation of Unit 28 staff, in November 2025, the record for the number of slabs inspected and descaled in one month at Mobarakeh Steel was broken by inspecting more than 11,000 slabs and removing 10,560 slabs.
Following this valuable success, the head of quality control of steel making and continuous casting, the foreman of quality control inspection of steel making, the head of regional slab preparation, and the slab preparation technician said the following about this:
Seyyed Mohammad Mehdi Marandi, Head of Quality Control of Steel making and Continuous Casting, said: "Since 2016, due to the launch of casting machine number 5 and the increase in slab production in the steel making area, which is greater than the acceptance rate of the hot rolling unit, In order to increase profitability and prevent warehousing costs, Mobarakeh Steel Company has started selling slabs as export products and domestic sales.
He added: "Given the limited number of slab customers, a necessary condition for continued sales is to maintain and improve customer satisfaction with the quality of the products received."
Marandi stated: "The quality control staff of the steel making and continuous casting area play a prominent role in this serious matter, and the smallest error in the inspection and approval of the slab will lead to dissatisfaction and ultimately the loss of domestic and foreign slab customers, and will also have a negative impact on the reputation of Mobarakeh Steel Company."
Given this, the importance of producing and delivering flawless planks that meet customer orders is felt more.
Inspection of export pallets by quality control staff and their compliance with customer specifications, both in terms of quality and dimensions, is very important and requires great care; on the other hand, spending a lot of time on inspection causes pallets to accumulate in the warehouse and lack of space, and delays the loading and shipping of the product;
Therefore, in this context, inspection operations must be carried out in a way that, in addition to observing the sensitive quality issues that are a priority, we can also respond to the large volume of production and orders in the area of steel making and continuous casting with the highest possible speed.
Safar Ali Begi, the foreman of the steel making quality control inspection, stated: "More than 11,000 pallets were inspected and their status was determined. This is while the previous record for the number of pallets inspected in open warehouses was 10,400 pallets in December of last year."
Other important points regarding the recording of this valuable record include the harsh conditions of the slab inspection environment, given that the warehouses are open, and on some days the inspection was conducted in unfavorable weather conditions.
Mohsen Ahmadi, Head of Slab Preparation in the Steel making Area, stated: “The hardworking colleagues of the slab preparation unit achieved another success in the year of “Investment for Production” by setting a new record of descaling 10,560 slabs in November 2025. One of the reasons for Mobarakeh Steel Company’s excellence in the country is customer orientation and efforts to provide quality products.
He added: "The waste under the slab, which is called "slag", is one of the problems raised by customers of steel factories, as well as Mobarakeh Steel. The presence of this waste, which is created by cutting the slab during the casting process, can play a significant role in the quality of the manufactured products."
In conclusion, the head of slab preparation in the steel making area expressed his appreciation for the unwavering support of the steel making and quality control managers and the determination of the employees and inspectors of the slab preparation unit, and expressed his hope that with the planning carried out and the efforts of all employees and support units, we will witness brilliant performance by the end of 2025.
Hamidreza Ghasemi, slab preparation technician, stated: "The creation of these wastes under the slab is inevitable in all casting machines during slab cutting."
In order to improve the quality of products for delivery to domestic and foreign customers, deslagging operations are carried out in outdoor warehouses using air pickers as another step in pallet preparation.
The previous record for deslagging was recorded in December 2024 with 10,100 tablets, and in November 2025, another new record was set in this field with 10,560 tablets.
