China Financing $5B in Iran Mine and Mining Industries Sector

Iran mine and mining industries sector has attracted $5 billion of China’s $20billion finance in Iran concurrently with President Rouhani’s visit to China, Chairman of the board of IMIDRO announced in 9th International Infrastructure Investment and Construction Forum.

According to the report of public relations of IMIDRO, speaking in the 9th IIICF in China, Mehdi Karbasian declared:”$4 billion of this finance has invested in IMIDRO’s project with cooperation of private sector”.

It seems that international restrictions has small impact on cooperation of Iran and China. Chinese companies are interested in development of cooperation in Iran’s mine and mining industries sector and especially with IMIDRO”, he added.

SALCO’s new plan

He noted the meeting with CEO of NFC and said: “during the meeting NFC expressed that SALCO project (as Iran’s largest aluminum ingot project) will be completed by the Iranian year end (ended 20March2019)”.

Also, Jajarm aluminum project will go on stream in the current Iranian year so as we will witness operation of two aluminum ingot production plant in Iran, chairman of the board of IMIDRO declared.

CEO of NFC will travel Iran in order to administer one stage of second phase of SALCO (south aluminum) so it will be operated with production capacity of 600 thousand tonnes, he continued.

Moreover, Persian Gulf Alumina Project and Guinea Bauxite are on the agenda in this visit, Deputy Minister of Industry, Mine and Trade said.

New financial package in Rouhani’s visit to China

New financial package between Iran and china will be discussed during the meeting of president Rouhani and Xi Jinping, president of the People’s Republic of China. It is a good opportunity for Iran’s mine and mining industry sector to take advantage of this new financial package, Karbasian said.

Also, during meeting with “China Energy”, the company expressed its interest in financing and investment in Iran’s projects such as water transmission pipeline, railway, power plant construction and equipment supply, he added.
