Iranian Vice-President for Science and Technology Sorena Sattari stressed that the country has devised different scenarios to confront the US sanctions.
Iranian VP Underlines Extensive Plans to Confront US Sanctions

"We have extensive plans to confront the sanctions and the country will go past this stage (sanctions era) well," Sattari told reporters in Alborz province near Tehran on Sunday.

He noted the operation of 4,400 knowledge-based companies in Iran, adding that their revenues stood at over 90,000bln rials (nearly $214bln) last year.

Sattari had also earlier this month said that the country has planned to produce drugs and medicines subject to US sanctions.

“Producing medicines and providing the required raw materials, particularly in the field of biotechnology, should be taken into serious consideration," Sattari said on the sidelines of a ceremony to unveil 4 Iranian-produced drugs for cancer and diabetes treatment, including Regorafenib and Sorafenib.

He pointed to the production of the newly developed drugs for cancer and diabetes treatment, saying, “A contract was inked eight months ago for the domestic production of drugs subject to sanctions, the first batch of which will hit the domestic market today.”

Iran has high pharmaceutical capacities and potentials, he said, adding, “Perhaps, most of our pharmaceutical projects should have been completed much sooner, but the imposition of US sanctions didn't make it possible; that is why this year we are working on production of sanctioned medicine."
