Tabas Coal’s Proven Reserves Increased 450MT

Based on preliminary data, IMIDRO’s exploration projects added 450 million tonnes proven reserves to Tabas coal reserves, Chairman of the board of IMIDRO announced.

Mehdi Karbasian during his two-day visit to South Khorasan province said one of the effective actions of 11th government in this deprived province is exploration of 6o thousand square kilometers since 2014.

So far, IMIDRO and IMPASCO as a result of advanced explorations activities in South Khorasan province discovered 17 and 13 promising zones respectively and some zones are in prospecting phase, he expressed.

About 60 thousand square kilometers have been explored by IMIDRO and IMPASCO, 46 and 14 thousand square kilometers respectively. IMPASCO’s explorations includes discovery of 13 promising zones of iron ore and poly metals such as lead and zinc. We hope starting next phases (processing etc.,) as a result of further explorations Karbasian added.

So far, we achieved 5 anomaly including lead and zinc, iron ore and gold in south zone, Chairman of the board of IMIDRO said.

51 thousand square kilometers exploration activities were conducted by IMPASCO last year. Regarding to establishment of a company in silica sector IMIDRO and private sector will cooperate in order to construct a plant in zones having silica resources (20 and 80 percent share respectively).
