Iran: Steel Export by Major Steel Mills Decrease by 22%

As per the data released by IMIDRO, Major Iranian steelmakers exported around 5,089,055 MT of Steel during eleven months of current Persian year (21 Mar 18-20 Feb’19).

Khouzestan Steel Company (KSC) was by far the largest exporter during the period, the company exported around 1,999,530 MT steel during the period. The company registered a downfall of around 20% Y-o-Y. Standalone during the eleventh month, export was noted to be around 159,387 down by 43% Y-o-Y.

Major steel products exported by KSC during the period were Slab (697,047 MT), Bloom (847,951 MT) and Billet (454,532 MT).

Mobarekeh Steel Company (MSC) was the second largest exporter of steel during the period, the company exported 783,684 MT in 11 months, registered a downfall of 25% Y-o-Y. During the eleventh month, company exported 27,739 MT.

Major steel products exported by MSC were HRC (448,042 MT), Slab (274,891 MT) and other finished flat steel (60,751 MT).

Esfahan Steel Company (ESCO) exported 810,601 MT of steel during the eleven months of current Persian year. Exports were down by 21% Y-o-Y.

Major product exported by ESCO were semi-finished steel (549,578 MT), rebar (142,043 MT), followed by beam (85,245 MT) and wire rod (33,735 MT).

Other major exporters includes South Kaveh Steel (664,800 MT), Hormozgan Steel Company (HOSCO) (582,126 MT) and Khorasan Steel (167,443 MT).
