IMIDRO plans to Start 10 Mining Projects in 2017

IMIDRO plans to start executive operations of 10 projects in mine and mining industries sector by the end of the first half of next Iranian year (22 September 2017).

In order to create added value and employment ,IMIDRO will launch executive operations and will hold groundbreaking ceremony of 10 new mining development projects including rare earth elements production unit (industrial mobile), Phosphoric acid (phosphate) production unit, Mehdi Abad lead and zinc concentrate production unit (with production capacity of 800 thousand tonnes zinc concentrate and 80 thousand tonnes lead and silver concentrate per year),Calcium chloride and magnesium hydroxide processing plant (with annual production of 30 thousand and 20 thousand tonnes respectively), and construction of Parsian Energy Intensive Special Industrial Zone jetty by September 2017.

Also, the other projects of IMIDRO that their executive operations will be started in the first half of the next Iranian year are second phase of Zarshouran gold processing plant (production of 2 tonnes gold per year), sponge iron production from low grade iron ore of central region of Iran and Sangan iron ore production project (Opal, 2 million and 400 thousand tonnes annual production).

In line with these projects, last month executive operations of two plants were started, Kahnuj titanium slag production plant (with annual production capacity of 70 thousand tonnes pigment) and Kahnuj titanium concentrate (with auuanl production capacity of 130 thousand tonnes).

It’s forecasted that these projects will require $2 billion and 467 million investment. These projects will be located in Razavi Khorasan, Yazd, Kerman, West Azerbaijan, Hormozgan, Alborz and Isfahan provinces.
